Whew!

These last couple of weeks with my parents have been B.U.S.Y!!
Everyday is either work, out and about or get togethers and for as tired as I am, I am LOVING it. January is going to be a hard month when my parents finally leave. I feel so right having them here, helping out, giving love and attention to the wee, getting my house {and myself} in order. So once they leave, it should be very interesting... :C
On to happier thoughts work is going well for me and I am slowly finding my groove in terms of the expectations set out for me. I will have 6 days off over Xmas, WOOHOO, and look forward to the re-charge. I think the house is decorated for the season {there always seems to be more I can set out} but with the extra bodies in the house this year, I think I will keep the decorations minimal. I am keeping track of the daily going ons for my Daily December album but will put it together in January, so perhaps that will keep me busy and occupied.
Hmm what else?
Claire is finishing up her swim lessons this Wed. and will have her last skating class on Thurs. for the Xmas season. She will continue skating lessons in the new year but I think we will leave the swim lessons for another time. I think all the go go is catching up with the smallest member in the house as well.
This Wed. Mark and I are off to see the Arrogant Worms in concert. We first saw them about 10 years ago with friends and we seem to miss them every time they return. I bought Mark tickets for Christmas and I know we will have a great night!

So the fridge and new freezer are bursting at the seams, we are all still standing and only 11 more days until Christmas. Ahhhh.... :D

Tear apart, clean, purge, REPEAT

Today was spent tearing apart the basement trying to find a space for a deep freeze my parents want to buy us for Christmas. We have wanted one for a few years now but obviously never got around to getting one. Probably because there was so much excess in the basement, there was no place to put it, until now!! Having these extra hands in our house has been a Xmas gift in itself. It has given me the time to really get into some of the deep cleaning and purging that needs to be done, preferably uninterrupted. We have donated to Goodwill, consigned clothes and household items and have created so much space down there, I couldn't figure out why the basement didn't look or feel right! Oh yeah, it's clean!!! lol
Now bring on the deep freeze so my mum can fill it up before they leave in January!! We are losing precious cooking and baking time people!! lol

We'll do it again next year!

Tonight we FINALLY got to head out with Meg and her hubby. The four of us haven't been out together, sans small people, in over a year. But thanks to the kindness of grandparents, we were able to meet up to share a very nice, relaxing evening. It seems funny that they have only lived here for about 2 years but we fall together like we have all known each other longer. Great friends and a great evening. Thanks guys and let's not wait so long to do it again!!

In other news {lol} my mum and I are heading out on a road trip just across the border tomorrow hoping to shop 'til we drop! Since dad, Mark and Claire have no interest in hanging around in Kohl's for 5 hours while we scour the racks {lol} it will just be the two of us. Tomorrow also begins the next round of holidays for me and I won't be back to work until next Friday. Woohoo!!!

Since the plan is to be up early and on the road, I'd better head to bed.
Night all!!!

No more hangers in the house

When I reach a point where I am out of clothes hangers that can only mean one thing...
my mum is here to visit and has done EVERY LAST PIECE OF LAUNDRY!!!
I mean EVERY PIECE!! Mark now has shirts hanging in his closet that I had forgotten he had. lol She unearthed some clothes for Claire that I had no idea we still had or why they may have been on the laundry table downstairs! lol
Today my mum tackled the packers full of Claire's baby clothes and organized them all into winter consignment, summer consignment and give away. Again people she went through EVERY SINGLE PACKER, BAG and PILE I had!!! lol
Man I am really rootin' for them to move here now!! lol

I think my horseshoe fell out of my a**

You know the horseshoe that is supposed to bring me luck and keep me from GOING BACK TO THE GARAGE FOR MY CAR AGAIN!!!!!!! OMG!!! I know our vehicle will be 10 years old this coming year and it's our only one but must it insist on falling apart just weeks apart from the other repairs??? After we picked up my parents and their luggage from the airport on Saturday I think we overloaded something in the back side on the driver's side because now we have a lovely "clunk", "squeak" and "rub" sound coming from that area.
So of course that means it heads back to the garage tomorrow for a new problem and I head to the rental car place tonight for yet another rental!! I think God is trying to tell me I should get a Budget rental car points card 'cause lord knows I would have been using it frequently over the past month!! lol
{sigh} I think momma might have to get a second job since we keep financing all the garages in our area!! lol Or perhaps I should have become a mechanic instead of going into banking when I returned to the workforce. lol
